Seals, What Are They Made Of?

August 5, 2019

At Seal Master we manufacture custom engineered, fabric reinforced inflatable seals and rubber products. We can utilize our expertise in this field to solve any problem. Here are a few ways we can help you.

Common Materials Used at Seal Master

Our inflatables are fabric reinforced, which means that several fabrics can be used to increase the durability and longevity of our elastomeric products. They are custom made to solve each customer’s unique problems but are also made to last for millions of duty cycles.

A common material we use in our inflatables is rubber. But we also utilize other elastomers like butyl, neoprene, polyurethane, and silicone. A project requirements and environmental concerns will dictate which elastomer is best suited for each customer.

Custom Compounds for Custom Solutions

For more complicated problems, the Seal Master team uses silicone or custom compounds. Compounds can be customized using several different elastomers to find an ideal solution for our customer.

Regardless of the specific elastomer used in an inflatable seal or bag, we always incorporate fabric to reinforce the material to withstand years of inflation and deflation.

Are you unsure of which compound or elastomer will help you? Contact us today and let us help develop a custom solution just for you.
