Our Quality and Inspection Process

June 14, 2018

At Seal Master, we take pride in our products and stand by their quality when they are sent on to our customers. That’s why each Seal Master product is tested at least two times before it’s shipped. Every inflatable seal or rubber product we manufacture is tested at least twice, each time by a separate Seal Master inspector. During this process, our inspectors are looking for cosmetic defects and are also trained to be aware of any problems that may arise during operation with the finished product.

Seal Master inspectors put finished products through several different tests in order to ensure our products will work as desired. One of the tests we perform is the under water leak test, which is mandatory. During this test, an inspector will fill up each part to the standard air pressure and submerge the product at least twice before shipment. Other tests we can perform at the request of the customer, such as the pressure decay, product cycle, or the burst test.

The product cycle test uses a pneumatic cycle machine to cycle shop air through the product and test for leaks. The pressure decay test fills a product up with air to stretch the seal and test for and decrease in air pressure over a period of time up to 24 hours. And the burst test is designed to document a product’s maximum operating pressure.
